Vera Noxon, 88, a long time resident of Rome NY, passed away in Charlotte, NC on March 17, 2023.

Vera was the oldest of eight children, born to Henry and Elizabeth Wulff in Cambridge, NY on January 23, 1935. She was a graduate of Cambridge Central School.

On August 22, 1953 she married Richard Noxon and soon moved to Rome, NY.

Her love of gardening and nature was always evident in her home in Rome and later when she moved to Charlotte. The bird feeders were always filled and the plants were always watered. With her caring spirit and generous heart, she made sure her back yard had something to feed all of the creatures that visited. From her sewing, knitting and crocheting, homes of family and friends are filled with memories of her crafting skills. Vera retired as Christian Education Director at the First Presbyterian Church in Rome in 1995. She continued teaching Bible study classes and remained active in other ministries throughout her retirement. Vera had an unwavering faith in God, and her faith only grew stronger in her final years of life. Vera's selfless devotion to others will be greatly missed, and her family is grateful for all the support and love shown to her from her friends in Rome and throughout the First Presbyterian Church community.

She is preceded in death by her husband Richard, son Barry and his wife Suzanne. She is survived by sons David (MaryEllen) Noxon and Douglas (Christine) Noxon; three grandchildren, Alexa Noxon, Noah (Amy) Noxon and Elizabeth (Matthew) Vannoy; brother Carl (Joanne) Wulff, and many nieces and nephews.
