Dora 'Dodi' Spear-Hill

Dora ‘Dodi’ Spear-Hill, 57, died Sunday morning, September 10th, 2023, at the Jack Byrne Center in Lebanon, NH after a period of declining health. She was surrounded by the love of family and friends.

Dodi was born September 19, 1965, in Cambridge, NY to James and Louise Spear. She attended the local schools and graduated with the class of 1984. A relationship sparked between her and Scott Hill when he called to offer condolences to her mother. They welcomed their daughter, Courtney, in June, and were later married on December 18, 1993. They later welcomed a second daughter, Shannon, and have spent every single day loving each other since.

There are no clear words to describe the love, light, and playful energy Dodi would bring when she walked into a room. She loved to bake all kinds of goodies, including her much loved banana bread and muffins. She found great joy in arts and crafts, and if she had your address, we imagine you would have quite a few handmade cards that arrived in your mailbox. There is no good way to express the amount of space in her family’s heart that is missing without her here, but they are glad she is no longer suffering.

Dodi worked various jobs around town, but she found the most pride in helping our area’s youth. Dodi was a dedicated Girl Scout Leader, paraeducator, and after-school program attendant. She was able to touch countless lives through her work at St. Johnsbury Academy, and at Hanover’s after school program. She will also be missed by her regulars from her deli-days at Dan & Whit’s, P&H Truck Stop and The Fort truck stop in Lebanon, NH.

Dodi was predeceased by her daughter, Courtney, in 2019, and her brother Frank Spear. She leaves behind her husband, Scott, and their daughter, Shannon. Survivors also include her siblings, Joann Spear- Duffy, Dee Spear, Butch Spear, and Charlie Spear.

A visitation will be held from 2-4pm on Sunday, September 24th 2023 at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction, VT.

In lieu of flowers, please consider supporting the family through their GoFundMe campaign at https://gofund.me/1d5afc1c . Knight Funeral Home is honored to assist Dodi’s family. Condolences are welcomed in an online guestbook found at www.knightfuneralhomes.com
