8/23/2014  On Saturday, September 27th, the Cambridge Lions Club will host its 2nd annual golf scramble at Windy Hills golf course in Greenwich. The event will be a four-man scramble with a 1 pm shotgun start. Registration will begin at noon. The cost of the event will be only $60 per person with all proceeds going to fund the Cambridge Lions CCS Scholarship awarded to two graduating seniors who have shown a dedication to community service. Last year the event raised over $1200!

In addition to supporting this great cause, your entry fee gets you 18 holes of golf with cart, lunch prior to your round, buffet/awards after the round, and the chance to win several on-course contests (longest drive, closest to the pin, etc...). There will also be a bountiful raffle table and 50/50 drawing. There are also several opportunities to help support this event through "hole", "contest", and "raffle table" sponsorships!

The deadline to register for the tournament is Saturday, September 20th, but don't delay as there is a cap on number of players.

You won't want to miss this great opportunity for a fun day on the links and a chance to support service-oriented Cambridge High School seniors!  Last year's winning foursome of Bruce Sausville, Jordon Hastings, Ray Purdy, and Bo Andersson have already declared their intention to be crowned back-to-back champs! Can anyone knock them off the throne?!

Contact Lion Brad Cone (518-928-0335) to sign up to play, register as a sponsor, or just for more information!

8/22/2014  Kayaking 4 Meso :  We are having a kayak event Sept 6th to raise monies for mesothelioma research. This is a cancer caused by asbestos exposure and we are hoping to raise awareness about mesothelioma and asbestos dangers. I  A dear friend began this event 4 years ago because his daughter, Linda Wells from Mechanicsville,  is still struggling with this. She is the youngest known to be diagnosed with it and he wanted so to do something to honor and support her. Her name is Linda Wells from Mechanicville  Then it  was just 3 of us that did a 16 mile paddle down the Hudson River. This year's event is 8 miles from Admiral's Marina in Stillwater to Halfmoon Lighthouse Park in the town of Halfmoon, NY. I do this event because I am a survivor of this cancer.  We would love to have as many folks join us as can. Thank you!!   For More information, check out their Facebook page  https://www.facebook.com/events/542247935902079/
