It is with deep regret, we accept the resignation of Mike Baratto
'62 as a member of Board of the CCS Alumni Association. We greatly
appreciate the work Mike has done over the years.
Mike was a member of the alumni board that organized the first
All-School reunion on 23-July-2005. In addition, he has been the
heart and soul of the Orange and Black Golf Scramble from its
inception in 2005 through this year's 5th annual tournament.
Mike has tirelessly participated in alumni committee activities and
was instrumental in establishing the CCS Alumni Scholarship which
resulted in the first three awards this past June. Mike's job and
coaching duties have increased to the point that he no longer can
contribute to the alumni committee at the high energy level with
which he attacks every responsibility (hey, Mike, I thought you were
going to slow down when you retired!).
The Alumni Association is looking for new board members. We meet the
first Saturday of each month in the CCS High School Library from
10am to noon. We plan, we talk, we reminisce. We work with the
Student Council to host the alumni on Homecoming and on Friday night
of the Reunion Weekend. We plan the events for the Reunion Weekend,
send invitations, and collect the funds. We plan and sell items such
as the cookbook, ornaments, hats and T-shirts to raise money for
alumni events. We sponsor the local adult basketball and volleyball
programs. We provide Pauline a glimpse of life in Cambridge and CCS
for her to post on the website to keep the alumni in touch.
If you are interested in joining the board or in finding out more
about what's involved, please contact Ken Gottry '68, president ( ken@gottry.com
or 315.383.5249). You're welcome any time to drop by one of our
meetings just to get the feel of things.
Don't worry, we won't ask you to try to fill Mike's shoes. No one
ever could. Thanks, Mike, for all you've done.
